The USDA's Farm Service Agency Urban and County committees will work to encourage and promote urban, indoor, and other emerging agricultural production practices in Dallas. Additionally, the new county committees may address areas such as food access, community engagement, support of local activities to promote and encourage community compost, and food waste reduction.

DALLAS COUNTY MASTER GARDENER

January 2020 - Present

Dallas County Master Gardeners have special training in horticulture. In exchange for their training, persons who become Master Gardeners contribute time as volunteers, working through their Extension office to provide horticultural-related information to their communities.

Dallas County Historical Commission consists of fifteen individuals appointed by the Commissioner Court, serves as the County's primary advisory body on historic preservation matters. The Historical Commission is responsible for providing the first level of review for all State historical marker requests, and it conducts two-to-three special projects per year.
